Difference between AppFabric workflow service and workflow manager -


what difference between "app fabric workflow service" , "workflow manager 1.0"

both used host workflows. me workflow manager looks because scalable, can create workflow hosting farm using multiple servers.

will "workflow manager" replace "appfabric workflow"? new project select?

this tough one.

appfabric workflow services (actually wcf workflow services) hosted in workflowservicehost, honest, can see appfabric workflow hosting not evolving much. in combination biztalk tools (adapter & mapper) through biztalk appfabric connect, nice build things.

workflow manager technology shipped sharepoint server 2013, service bus windows server. honest, v1, technology evolved (especially since sharepoint biggest customer of technology ;))

the nice thing workflow manager is built cloud-ready (isolation, scalability, security...). have concept of trusted surface (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/jj193509(v=azure.10).aspx) allows sandbox customization.

so, bet be: if product/platform long term thing, go workflow manager, live v1 concepts, or ignore trusted surface sandboxing. if build shorter term, go appfabric still.
