github - Git add from 1and1 hosting returning permissions error -


1and1 not favorite hosting site, i'm required use time being. i'm attempting add files existing repo github , not allow me issue command

git add .

when do, prompt returns:

error: open("logs/traffic.html/.md5sums"): permission denied error: unable index file logs/traffic.html/.md5sums fatal: adding files failed

i can manually add files git add filename command, can not mass add there. missing crucial process, or there else not seeing. thank you!

i resolved issue on own. .gitignore file not set ignore file 'logs/traffic/.md5sums' file, not have access open on 1and1.com hosting site. adding fire .gitignore solved issue.
