How to discover live hosts on same network using C kernel module? -


i'm writing kernel module send special packet every live host on same network host running module. i'm not totally sure how discover live hosts on same network using c kernel code. i've looked ping.c code , think discovery of live hosts.

i use application level utility nmap ping , data kernel module, defeat purpose of module. ideas welcomed. thanks.
