java - logback \ log4j - a rotating log file -


i'm looking log file, size based, log last 10mb or so, without rolling older data archived files. meaning - after 10mb older data deleted, , new entries added row-for-row.

found policies, none seem keep original file name.

you supposed use following 2 log4j properties:

log4j.appender.loggerid.maxfilesize=10mb   log4j.appender.loggerid.maxbackupindex=1

when file has reached 10mb log4j rotate id keeping @ 1 file backup.
