android - How to receive Push notifications from server (AWS or app engine) to a local script running on windows computer? -


i have app communicates data server (aws or app engine). data supposed sent computer running windows 7. want script on computers recieve push notification , make pop appear user know new data has been recieved.

can tell me if possible. finding push notification android devices. windows computer ?

also, if not possible, best way this. knwo can poll server continuously cause unnecessary http request being generated. can try implement local server app engine can send data, want knwo if there easier more simpler way dot his.
