Numeric ClearCase Activity IDs -


i have question clearcase activity ids.

by default strings, there way force them numerical ids? not appear simple setting anywhere, thought perhaps there background script has triggered if possible @ all.

i want automated/managed system, not left developers plug in whatever id want.

thoughts? i'm using clearcase 8 (ucm) on windows. well, of our developers use gui opposed command line, if makes difference.

that wouldn't covered clearcase directly.

if using full clearcase (as opposed ccrc or clearteam), deploy wrapper cleartool, intercept cleartool mkact command , provide right name according policy.

for clearteam, wrap rcleartool.

but in both cases, command-line solution.

one other alternative control activity name, through pre-op mkact trigger.
